Spanish Lesson Notes: Day 10

Today in Spanish class we learned…

Quantities

  • mucho = much / a lot
  • muy = very
  • muchos/muchas = many

Normally tengo mucho and estoy muy.

A, De and En

  • a = to / at
  • de = of / from
  • en = in / on / at

Examples:

  • Yo visito a Dan = I visit Dan
  • Dan es de Escocia = Dan is from Scotland
  • Dan está en la escuela = Dan is at the school

Always use Ir a:

  • Voy a la casa = I’m going to the house
  • Voy a la playa = I’m going to the beach
  • Voy al hotel = I’m going to the hotel
  • Voy al bar = I’m going to the bar
  • Voy al restaurante = I’m going to the restaurant

Que

  • Que = so, that, than, to
  • Yo espero que = I hope that
  • Yo pienso que = I think that
  • Yo creo que = I believe that
  • Dan es más alto que Brigid
  • Tener que = Must (used with personal pronouns)
  • Hay que = Must (used without personal pronouns)

Examples:

  • Yo tengo que estudiar más

Only use the accent in qué when used in a question (to mean what).

Random Vocab

  • uña = fingernail
  • Russian = ruso
  • marreo = dizzy
  • fe = faith
